Welcome to the Seattle Sportsnet message board and fan forum!
This is a place where we encourage SSN readers to get involved and share their thoughts and opinions on anything and everything Seattle sports. As is the case with any message board, we have a few simple ground rules regarding the forum which we need to address:
1) In order to post a thread or reply on the board, users need to create a FREE account and handle by scrolling up to the top of the screen and clicking "register." The process is very simple and takes less than a couple minutes. Unregistered users (guests) can still view topics and threads on the board, but cannot make any posts of their own. So if you plan to interact, you'll need to register.
2) Users must maintain a certain of level of civility when posting a thread or reply in the forum. Users must refrain from personal attacks on other users and avoid any explicit use of profanity. If either of these rules are broken, the thread or reply in question will be deleted and the guilty party will be at risk of being banned from the message board entirely. We try to keep it pretty loose around here, but if you get out of hand, you won't be back.
A few FAQ's regarding the board:
Q: How do I become a part of this board?
A: Scroll up to the top of you screen and click "register." You'll be asked to provide a certain amount of information about yourself, create a user name that will be displayed when you create a thread/reply, and confirm your intentions via email. All of this takes less than five minutes to complete, and then you're on your way to posting!
Q: How do I create a brand new thread in the forum?
A: Inside the Seattle Sportsnet forum page, click "new thread" (upper right-hand corner of thread box in middle of your screen) and begin typing away.
Q: How do I post a reply to an existing thread?
A: Inside the existing subject thread, click on "reply" (lower right-hand corner of thread box in middle of your screen) and begin typing your reply. You can also use the "Quick Reply" feature directly beneath the thread box by typing a reply and then clicking "Post Reply."
Q: How do I modify my personal profile?
A: You can modify your profile at any time by scrolling to the top of you screen and clicking "profile." From there, you are taken to an active page displaying your personal profile. On that page, near the top of the profile box, click on "Modify Profile" to change any aspect of your profile you wish.
Q: It says I have "1 new message" at the top of the screen. What does that mean?
A: When you register a user name on the board, you are simultaneously registered the use of a Personal Message (PM) inbox to use as well. The default setting for your PM inbox is "On," meaning the inbox is up and running and ready to receive messages from other users. If you wish, you can elect to turn "Off" your PM inbox, thus refusing messages from other users, by going to your profile and modifying that specific setting (see above FAQ for instructions on modifying your profile).
Q: How do I get a cool looking avatar like that one of Curtis Allen that you have, Alex?
A: In order to create your own avatar, all you have to do is go to your profile and modify it. About halfway down the "Modify Profile" page is a section where you can add an avatar. You can add an image already saved on your computer, or utilize a URL for an image anywhere on the internet. The maximum pixel size for any avatar image is 100px by 100px, meaning in the boxes labeled "Avatar Width" and "Avatar Height" you need to enter "100" and "100," respectively, or any number smaller than that if you wish.
Any other questions, just reply to this thread and I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks for reading this over!
